Description

We are the growing supplier of choice for our industrial and academic customers who are demanding optimized chromatography workflows, accurate mass analysis and more productive research and scale-up.  We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our expanding team.  This position will be UK-based but could require > 50% travel to support customers and distributors throughout the wider EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) territory.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide on-site installation, maintenance, modification and repair service to ensure our AIS customers receive the maximum benefit from their AIS mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography products.
• Provide detailed, on-site training on all aspects of the equipment’s use..
• Plan and prepare the necessary parts, test equipment, technical documentation, travel arrangements etc. to complete daily field service activities.
• Submit the necessary documentation (field service reports, expense reports, quality reports, etc.).
• Maintain and expand technical knowledge by attending training courses and in self-study.
• Work with sales personnel to exploit sales opportunities and to resolve customer problems.
• Ensures that tools, test equipment, parts, etc. are properly maintained and organized to provide maximum efficiency.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Science or engineering degree in relevant area and/or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mass spectrometry instrumentation and/or liquid chromatography (analytical or preparative HPLC, Flash) is required
• Experience with field service, engineering basics and computer skills is desired
• This is a home-based position so travel to UK customers and spending time away from home to support more distant customers will be a requirement.
